he 32-year-old spent a solitary season at Anfield in the 2006/07 season before moving to West Ham and latterly Manchester City.
Dalglish, however, has sought to bring the firebrand attacker back to the club on a two-year deal to add more variety to his multi-faceted attack.

And it was a move the Wales international was never going to refuse.
"I've grown up with Kenny Dalglish, now to be signed by him is a massive honour," he told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"This is an exciting time. When Kenny took over, watching as a fan last season I got the buzz as well and it was great to see Liverpool end the season well.

Like so many other follows of Liverpool, Bellamy grew up watching Dalglish applying his unique playing style and grace to the Liverpool cause.
Memory
It is a memory for him that is still very vivid.
"To every Liverpool fan, Kenny is probably the best player ever to pull on the red shirt so that speaks for itself," he added.
"He was the first player-manager to do the double and just the way he conducted himself really.
"I know we've had bits of success since then but the club hasn't been the same since he left, so to come back in and be a part of this with the players who are here - it's a good time."
