Carroll, who is the club's record signing following his January switch from Newcastle, has struggled for form and fitness since arriving on Merseyside.
The England international had a quiet game in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland last weekend to raise concerns over his form.
However, Enrique who played alongside Carroll at Newcastle, believes the striker was not fit last season upon his arrival at Liverpool, but he expects the 22-year-old to deliver for Kenny Dalglish's troops.
